[ After the trial had died down, McBurn made good on his plans to head straight to sleep - though there was a slight delay when he had to make a brief passing to take his invitation. But at least he had it.
The next day, well...he slept most of the day as well. He's already done so much that week, more than he'd planned.
But when nightfall comes, he'll extricate himself from his room, and make a point to avoid everyone else. He's not in the mood for socializing - hardly is, really - and now that this is all coming to an end...there's really no more need for him to play nice or have much to do with them.
McBurn does have an intention to speak shortly with someone today, and only that one person if he can help it. So he's coming upon the Conductor's Office (not her cabin...unless he has to knock to see if she's in there instead!) Then he'll knock on the door.
For once, he'll even say something to announce his presence. ]
...It looks like something from a Weftland. I can't say I know what it does.
[A pause.]
Oh, a protest. Protests are normal at Floating Parliament, but there was an incident. No details given to me, but the lodgings you were meant to be housed in were damaged as a result.
Of course, ever since the Empress untethered the whole of Parliament from London. The Perpetual Protest is always there, between people who want their laws or ideas to be enacted. People who think the parliamentary system is still effective in this day and age.

It's mostly about ridiculous issues, frankly. Entire months of squabbling over the name of sponge cake, and the bill doesn't even pass committee!

Sunday Evening, Final Week
